Mark Hershey was named senior vice president and Chief Operating Officer in 2025. In this position, he is responsible for the business strategy and operations of both company segments, Mineral Fiber and Architectural Specialties, along with business development and enterprise-wide strategic planning. Since 2022, he had served as senior vice president, Americas. He joined the company in 2011 as general counsel and secretary and subsequently served as chief compliance officer and leader of the company’s sustainability efforts. During his tenure at AWI, Mark has played a key leadership role in a range of commercial transactions and strategic initiatives, including the separation of the flooring business in 2016, the sale of its European and Asian businesses in 2019, and multiple acquisitions to grow Armstrong’s Architectural Specialties portfolio.
Prior to joining AWI, Mark held the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at Ricoh Americas Corporation, a $6 billion subsidiary of Ricoh Company Limited, a global manufacturer and leader in digital office equipment, software, and solutions. Prior to his role with Ricoh, Mark held similar leadership positions at IKON Office Solutions, Inc., the largest independent distributor of office products in the Americas and Europe.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University and a juris doctor from Villanova University School of Law. He serves on the board of trustees of The National Building Museum, a private, non-profit institution created by the U.S. Congress that educates, entertains, and engages people about the built environment while challenging them to advocate for a sustainable and equitable future.
